After I posted this, I came across a great Substack today which says “Take A Break” more eloquently! https://open.substack.com/pub/toooldforthis/p/you-and-i-are-too-old-to-ignore-when?r=2sow8l&utm_medium=ios

Yes, and “Proud Mary” is my go-to—check out the live Amsterdam show.

My first favorite album was Ike and Tina, Diane. I played it over and over. You know because it was the one album the adults would let me completely demolish on my kiddie turntable.

When I walk to Tina, I found I move faster and sexier 😎

Crap, accidentally deleted my whole response. I was just saying that I’ve never been very able to enjoy hard rock although I admire people who can. It does seem like great workout music if you can manage it. I think I get easily overstimulated.

But also, it could have something to do with my very first concert at age 13. I looked in the back of the newspaper in the tiny tiny print next to the want ads and found what concerts were playing in the area. I had heard of this one guy, but I didn’t really know who he was. I brought a French foreign exchange student with me to the concert. She had no idea who anyone was and was game for whatever, plus she could drive. We showed up at a Ted Nugget concert!!😵‍💫😮Morbidly fascinating.

You are so right...we do need a break now and again. I feel too much consumption of the negative, intense information stream can really affect my attitude and soul. I will go to the gym and listen to more heavy rock music that motivates me for another minute or two on a treadmill. It's unusual for a 68 year old female to love Metallica or Koriti (from Australia) I suppose, but here I am. 😂😂😂

I’ll check these out later today, Eugene! Great suggestions.

The Cody live version is so good that the crowd noise is sampled on other live albums by other artists.
