Did She Wink At Me?
Yes, she did! But she continued to walk and winked at the sky and the trees! Then the birds. . .
Today I walked sporting dark sunglasses like a movie star to experiment with my one cataract free eye vs. the one due for surgery tomorrow. I looked at the sky with one eye shut and quickly “winked” to compare it to my “bad” eye. What a difference! Beautiful blue vs. grayish blue! I wish I had the surgery before autumn. But now I’ll see spring bursting out in vibrant colors!
As I continued to wink at trees, birds, squirrels—I laughed at the wizened tree bark, the feather designs on robins and sparrows, and the hairs on the top of the squirrels’ ears! I cannot wait to have the second surgery over. Wearing an eye at night now seems no big deal for a week. Then I get re-evaluated for reading glasses I suspect or better quality movie star glasses. It’s so bright out there.
I did not know how bad my eyes had gotten. We had some remodeling, and my husband had back injections. Yes, I had to postpone my regular eye appointment until December. Then I was shipped to the surgeon for more tests. It is worth it.
Please, please, if you or someone you know needs cataract surgery—just do it! If you find yourself squinting, using a magnifier on your phone to read the comics (print too small!), or articles—those were all red flags I ignored. My husband said, make the appointment!
Hello out there! Make that eye appointment! I’ll let you know how eye 2 does. I guess the only winking I’ll be doing will be at my husband ❤️😎
Clear eyes
Pleasing surprise.
Ohhhh I'd forgotten you were going in for that. I am so so glad it went well. Reassuring too as I will eventually have to have mine removed. Keep us posted, please.
