We have been snowed in this past week. I went through some old file folders from the early 2000’s, and honestly I had forgotten I had played “artist” one winter when we were snowbound. It was a one-time thing prompted by a gift of cheap paints, brushes, and paper.
These are imperfect photo copies from my cell. The first one was my attempt to show the beauty of snow-covered trees along a driveway or frozen stream. Blue and white are my favorite winter colors, and I was set on using my new paints!
The second one at the bottom is bolder and happier because in my mind I was back in Sweden ice skating on the frozen pond above our house. At 23 I was able to play ice hockey and skate with my cousins who loved to see me fall since I was their teacher. Happy memories of a magical time when I was beyond happy.
Love the painting. I have some canvases and acrylics I want to play with soon!
Ice covered lake and a snow topped alley! Wonderful painting!
