Thanks, Malcolm, for the mention.

I have been pondering how Dems could promote emotional community advocacy in addition to wonk to reach those immune to wonk

I recently read of the success in postings re: abortion laws and the case of the woman leaving the state to get an abortion.

Also in TX some moms ha posted a video pointing at gun control of a child drowning in a pool and a man standing by offering prayers to God instead of diving in to help.

I would suggest videos of interviews with people who have benefitted from the Biden Infrastructure efforts.

This is probably on the Dem calendar but there could be other less wonky publicity.

Can you add to this discussion?

If you have already done so, I applaud.

Thanks

Be well.

I think most people feel that someone else must produce big money videos, but every person with a cellphone can video their own personal interview with friends about keeping democracy alive and post it on social media platforms. People watch videos of friends, don’t they? I would listen to 10 friends comments on video before watching a tv ad.

North American history is full of conflicts between and among tribes

( For brief history of man see my Stack post 12/15/23

Freedom of Speech & the history of man.)

The immigration that followed Chris Columbus's 1492 voyage introduced new tribes into the landscape.

Conflicts continued with a few major conflicts, world wars 1 & 2 , uniting the US as never before.

However, subsequent conflicts did not produce unification to the same degree. Our collection of unique tribes has of late brought sectional and tribal conflict again to the forefront.

Religion vs Religion, Business vs Labor, Rich vs poor, Manhood vs

Misshood. Color vs Color. (Yes, white is a color)

Democracy hangs in the scales of the statue of liberty.

To help further that statue's proclaimation, which recalls many other similar, a fellow Substacker, Dian K24 has suggested

"I think most people feel that someone else must produce big money videos, but every person with a cellphone can video their own personal interview with friends about keeping democracy alive and post it on social media platforms. ( TicToc?)

People watch videos of friends, don't they? I would listen to 10 friends comments on video before watching a TV ad. "

I like this idea.
