What a beautiful old fellow! Bet he's a good snuggler. I believe dogs are among the universe's greatest gifts to humans because they embody deep wells of unconditional love and acceptance. My eight-year-old rescue dog is also my ears. She can't relay what people are saying to me, but she does let me know if there's anyone I haven't seen within 100 yards of us. An interesting mix of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Papillon, she's not only a world-champion snuggler, but also the only being authorized to tell me it's time to hang up Substack for the day. I don't always listen to her not-so-gentle reminders, but at least I feel guilty when I don't. Extra dog treats for everyone!😏
