Is Driving During the Eclipse Safe?
This is my experiment using the survey tool for the first time. Play it, Sam!
It seems to me the danger will be other drivers on the road who are distracted, not counting passengers wearing eclipse glasses for an outing distracting the driver. In any case, I have to drive home from the dentist!
Apologies for a silly survey, but I promise the next one will be more interesting! 💙
It’s safer if you pull over as others , mainly those who haven’t been paying attention, will be/get distracted & not pay attention. It was neat. We took chairs (& our eclipse glasses) to the front lawn & got a great view. Love how everything changed for a few moments. The birds all went quiet & everything turned a shade of “purplish”. Looking through the glasses was surreal.
Where I am is 95.5% of totality at its maximum at 3:30 pm, with a total duration of 2 hr 23 min. It is safe to drive if you must (just don’t look at the sun), though it’s the other drivers you may need to watch out for!
