On a recent Substack somewhere I read the Heritage Foundation is a major financial sponsor of the Rethuglican Convention in Milwaukee (the city the CFDT trash talked) complete with booths and break-out sessions. So again I ask, as have many of you, between Project 2025, their hosting and/or being a sponsor of right-wing political events and conferences, and now their participation in Milwaukee, when is the IRS going to take away their tax exempt 501(c)3 status?

You’re spot on, Michael! It’s like a nest of snakes and spider webs except they’re only about money.

Diane K24: You and I share a lot.

The Democratic nominee must win.

At all costs, we must collectively develop a deep infrastructure to push through majorities in the House and Senate, and win some Governorships and state legislatures.

At all costs.

Too often, the citizen concentrates only on the most glamorous office, the Presidency.

But it is critical to win the House, the Senate, Governorships, state legislatures, county and city leaders, to undergird a permanent, strong Democratic Party.

That Party must be a strong advocate for the rights of women and minorities AND LGBTQ, labor unions, affirmative action, health care, infrastructure, social programs.

The GOP state legislatures have given the Democrats the Christmas Present IN JULY of Governor and state legislature actions that are absurd and dangerous -- critically endangering women's and girl's health care, with misogynistic voices that have to be heard to be believed in confounding stupidity and confusion.

If we do all of the above, we have a strong defense shield in case the public were to vote Trump in office.

The Democrats should weigh the top of the ticket carefully and confidentially. The play out before the general public creates the impression that the Democrats have been sent in a panic and downslide.

Such impressions will lose elections.

By the actions of many of our leaders in the Party, that impression (panic and downslide) may be in part or whole correct!

Whether a Biden/Harris or a Kamala Harris/Gretchen Whitmer -- I am heartily on board either way -- the nominee with henceforth need a mighty tailwind to sail into the last 115 days of this election, with no time to lose, and to carry the battle to the streets as Happy and Strong Warriors.

As General Douglas MacArthur emphasized, "There is no substitute for victory!"

You are so right! I am not supporting/donating to anyone who is calling for President Biden to step aside. It is ridiculous!

Liz, me too! I remember in 2016, Trump ruined Thanksgiving and Christmas for my family. That was the beginning of our troubles.

They are doing more damage to our party than coming up with fresh ways forward. Don’t count him out. He as counted out before and won. I’m with Jim Clyburn.
