I live in a small town in SC in a subdivision with woods to one side. Have so enjoyed a herd of deer munching on the Lariope and a fawn and doe in my back yard coming all the way to the bird feeder at the patio window! Little one with spots just getting his legs and running in spurts ever so sweet. Cancelled my gardener for present; I really don’t care if neighbors object; I prefer the deer! 🦌

My grandfather had apple trees, and he called the groundhogs “whistle pigs”! They ate the fallen apples and grew fat!

Diane K24: Your stag, Bucky, is pretty with the antler display. The stag, with does and fawns, is a noble sight. We live in a semi-rural suburb of Memphis (from our parish church, Queen of Peace, the next traffic light north is already Memphis). We mainly see the doe and fawns graze in vast acreage on the edge of the woodland.

A noble woman, whom I love, is the great concert pianist, Hélène Grimaud, who has secured vast parkland for her wolf preserve. For that, not all wolves are equally feral. There are pictures of a she.wolf with forepaws on H. Grimaud’s shoulders, kissing her on the cheek.

Beautiful Armand ! Both the artist and the wolves.

Bucky is so cute. He’s your weed eater, so there no need for chemicals. Bucky and family wouldn’t stick around if they didn’t feel safe. By the way, I love your accent. Thanks for sharing. Enjoyed it so much!

Thanks! You know exactly what I mean. I feel sorry for children growing up in the city.

Thanks—I wasn’t prepared. Just observing. If I do another, I’ll be more myself 😂
